Braille Technician in an SEN School - Part Time (2 days per week) - North London
Active SEN are seeking a braille technician to work in an SEN school based in North London. This role is 2 days per week and you would be required to know Braille and how to use a Braille machine. You would be supporting a student who is blind and needs support academically, socially and emotionally. This role is ideal for someone who knows Braille and has previous experience working with children.
Duties:

To develop appropriate materials to support a young person with Visual and Hearing Impairments (Multi Sensory Impaired - MSI), including modifying and adapting textbooks and other print materials as advised by specialist teaching staff.

To establish a supportive relationship with the young person, ensuring she is able to use the equipment and materials provided.

To work collaboratively with the Qualified Teacher of Visual Impairment (QTVI) and Teacher of the Deaf (ToD) in developing the use and deployment of ICT equipment for a Visually and Hearing Impaired young person.

To keep up-to-date with new developments linked to ICT equipment for a multi sensory impaired young person.

To take responsibility for equipment used by the young person, including: logging in and out; keeping accurate records; checking equipment; ensuring the pupil is able to use the equipment and materials provided; informing when materials need ordering.
Requirements:
* Knowledge of how to use Braille or Braille qualification
* Clear DBS
* Right to work in the UK
