Part Time Head of Employability - 6 month contract

Description:

We are delighted to partner with our client, a professional and highly reputable social enterprise organisation who seek to recruit an interim Head of Employability to join their organisation on an initial 6 month contract which could extend or be made permanent.
This role can be worked remotely but post Covid there would be an expectation to work part of the working week within the offices in mid Sussex.
The salary range for this role is £17-£20 per hour over 28-32 hours per week. - Mon - Fri
Job Purpose
Take responsibility for the contractual performance, quality and compliance of the Employability programmes.
Provide leadership, line management and mentoring to the Team leaders.
Work strategically with key stakeholders at a senior level, including directors.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Work collaboratively with key stakeholders, to ensure consistently high standards of delivery
Be responsible for organising regular one-to-one and group review meetings with the Employability Team.
Contract Management
Manage contractual performance, risk, quality and compliance against agreed SLA\'s, leading all related activity delivered by the Case Managers
Set stretching targets for Case Managers to maximise their contribution and ensure that performance targets are achieved.
Ensure that job outcome rates are monitored and collected monthly for cohorts finishing interventions at the 3 and 6 month point.
Lead, develop and retain high calibre staff, who are competent, efficient and capable of delivering high performance
Ensure high standards of on-going reporting, in line with contract requirements - Delivering and reporting on the annual service plan, Health & safety and security reporting.
Identify best practice, through data analysis and robust audit and developing into business-as-usual
Prepare for and attend contract review meetings, responding to emerging needs and policies, maintaining focus on contract objectives.
Take responsibility for financial performance and contract spend against budgets
Drive the long-term financial performance and value for money of the contracts through effective operational and financial performance management
Lead on risk management activity, putting in place measures to mitigate identified risks and conducting monthly reviews in line with risk management policy
Be accountable for timely, accurate and high quality data input onto the databases.
To be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of people with whom job holder comes into contact
General responsibilities
Take responsibility for own CPD (Continuing Professional Development) in line with company expectations
Ensure that all policies, e.g. Equality and Diversity, Code of Conduct, Safeguarding procedures, Health and Safety, Data Security, are fully applied at all times
Ensure accurate and secure handling of data including DBS, case notes, and financial records
To closely manage the Case Managers / Facilitators to ensure they are following the same accurate procedures in line with data handling and policies
Business Development
Recording, reporting and publishing (blog, web, book) anonymised case studies and success stories
Promoting the above in meetings with existing providers, and other departments in contractor organisations
Create new services and materials
Generating contacts and leads within the employability field
Support the business development project manager in contract writing, financial modelling and service specifications
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Essential
Experience of leading teams, to achieve high levels of performance
Knowledge of the contractual and performance management requirements of public sector contracts
Experience in the employability sector with knowledge of the operation of employability services
Experience in developing and mentoring staff into leadership positions
Tolerant, non-judgemental attitude towards people who may be socially excluded
Ability to role model through attention to own patterns of behaviour, learning and career progression
Ability to work flexibly and independently with multiple stakeholders
Strong communication and motivational skills
Competent and confident in the use of IT, including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook/Office 365
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Desirable
Strong training design and delivery skills
Able to demonstrate a resilient and robust approach to working within challenging and unpredictable environments.
Knowledge of European Social Fund monitoring and audit requirements
Due to rural workplace location, your own transport will be essential
